Gregory Moore
Glasgow Print Studio Ground Floor Gallery
Exhibition Runs: 2nd March - 8th April
Preview: Thursday , 8th March, 6-8pm
Gregory Moore studied at Belfast Art College in the early 1980s where he graduated with a degree in Fine Art. During this time he was introduced to printmaking and after a career in graphic design, teaching and illustration he was keen to start printing again. In 2016 he enrolled on a refresher etching course and shortly afterwards became a member of the Glasgow Print Studio.
After exploring a range of etching techniques including hard and soft ground, aquatint, sugar lift and spit biting Gregory started producing a range of prints inspired by the landscape and the effect that weather and light has on the mood and atmosphere of a place. He has also experimented with mezzotint, carborundum and monoprinting, keen to get the most from these versatile mediums.
In 2017 Gregory won the Roy Wood prize for excellence in Printmaking at the Royal Scottish Academy Exhibition in Edinburgh and also had his prints exhibited in various exhibitions, art fairs and galleries.
Having rediscovered printmaking again, Gregory is keen to keep experimenting with different processes and techniques and to explore further the beauty and character of our diverse landscape.
