Learning & Engagement Intern

This 6 month placement is ideal for a recent arts / teaching graduate with an interest in Gallery education. Working with key staff members it will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to gain practical experience in all aspects of GPS Learning Programme.

The internship will require a commitment of 2 days per week. Please note this position will require a Disclosure Scotland check. This post is unpaid but travelling expenses will be reimbursed.

Role Description

Under direction of Education Officer duties may include:


Assisting where necessary with In house events
Dealing with general public
Delivering short gallery & workshop tours
Assisting in the development of school resources for Primary/Secondary and Teachers
Documentation: photographic, video, digital
Assisting in the development of interpretative info
Research relating to Exhibitions and interpretation of Archive
Assisting with Exhibition interpretation
Assisting in the development and practical aspects of schools, family and community workshops.
General duties including ordering materials, setting up equipment and
liasing with artists
Course programme administration and development
Marketing : education input for website and print
Development of promotional material for education programme ( web/print)
Evaluation & Statistic Compilation
Updating Mailing list with Learning Programme participants data
