The Trongate 103 Skills Development Programme is a unique series of short training courses aimed specifically at practising artists. Delivered by organisations within Trongate 103, it offers a range of creative-led training Free for those wishing to extend their skills into new areas, refreshen techniques, or to improve already existing specialisms. The courses, which run in the Autumn of 2010 up until January 2011, highlight some of the facilities and training available across the organisations within Trongate 103, and include printmaking, photography, video, digital imaging, as well as stained glass, ceramics, theatrical lighting and traditional Russian decorative folk paintings. The Skills Development Programme has been made possible with the support of Creative Scotland and Glasgow Life. It is subsidised to ensure that participation for artists is free. Criteria: Who: The Skills Development Programme is open to Artists, users and members of the Trongate 103 building living and working in Glasgow or within postcode area begin with G. Artists wishing to expand on their current core skills and develop skills outwith their normal practice are encouraged to apply. (For example a painter wishing to learn photography or printmaking techniques; a video artist interested in theatrical lighting) This opportunity is not open to students. How many courses can be applied for? Applicants can apply for up to a maximum of 2 courses. Applicants have options for 1st and 2nd choice in the courses they apply for. How much does it cost? The Skills Development Programme is fully subsidised and therefore free to selected artists.
