A suite of etchings contributing to the culmination of a body of work produced with the support of a Creative Scotland Award presented to Moyna Flannigan.
The first part of the Creative Scotland Award, a series of paintings reflecting a fictional, contemporary political dynasty were shown as an intervention in the historical collection at Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute. Since then, continuing the project, Flannigan has produced further related works including a suite of eight etching editions produced at GPS.
Flannigan’s work is characterised by an exuberant imaginative energy, black humour and a probing critique of the effects of power on personal, cultural and political alienation in the modern world.
