For Teachers

We can offer tailored continual professional development days to suit the individual needs of your staff and department. A guided tour of our workshop facilities and gallery is included as well as access to artworks, tools and plates from our archive collection. Please get in touch if you would like to us to host a CPD day.

GPS also offers a range of professional development courses for Primary, Secondary and SEN teachers.

Primary Printmaking (p4-p7)
10am-4pm Cost: £100

Screenprinting in Secondary Schools (higher/adv higher)

Japanese Woodblock Printing without a Press (secondary)

Relief Printing in Secondary Schools 10am - 4pm

For Pupils - Primary

What is a Print? (P5-7, maximum 20 pupils)

Cost: £65
These fun and creative workshops inspire young people to explore, discuss and engage with art by using GPS’ fine art collection as a resource. Workshops focus on investigating objects including plates, tools and original prints. Pupils will also learn how to identify different printmaking processes.

Printed Portraits (p4-7, maximum 30 pupils

£150 per 1/2day workshop
Create fun printed portraits using pressprint. This simple technique is ideal for the primary classroom, and working with artists both teachers and pupils will get the best out of this versatile medium.)


For Pupils - Secondary

What is a Print? (S1-S6, maximum 18 pupils

Cost: £65
Informative and creative workshops inspire pupils to explore, discuss and engage with art by using GPS’ fine art collection as a resource. Workshops focus on investigating objects such as printing plates, tools as well as original prints. These workshops encourage critical evaluation of artwork and pupils will also learn how to identify different printmaking processes.

Senior Pupil Portfolio Classes

During these classes pupils have the opportunity to use the professional standard printmaking facilities in GPS’ workshop to develop and produce their own work. Classes in screenprinting, etching and woodblock printing are available. Adapted portfolio classes can also take place in your art department.

Full day portfolio classes cost: £300 per group. Max number of pupils 8
